The Top 5 Fall Decorations You Need in Your Home

I LOVE fall. It's 1000% my favorite season of the year; it has my birthday, my favorite holidays, and my wedding anniversary. I love everything about it: the colors, the clothes, the activities, the feeling in the air, the food, everything. This is the part of the year where I want to bake more, I'm feeling more generous, and I'm just overall in a much better mood.

One of my favorite parts of the season is the beginning of the season where you pull out all of your sweaters, fall recipes, mugs, and all the other fall things and watch as your life shake off the summer and embrace that fall feeling.

I love to decorate my house. You can ask my husband how many times I've had him rearrange all the furniture or how many times he's come home from work just for a room to look completely different. I don't know why; I just really love changing up my home to keep it feeling fresh and exciting.

In my opinion, fall is the best season to decor during because it's just so exciting to me to be able to pull out all of my favorite things and turn my home from its normal everyday feel to upping the cozy and warmth factor.

I've complied a list for y'all today of my top five fall decorations you need in your house. These are the ones that I've found really embody the fall spirit and make your home feel extra cozy and inviting during the fall season.

Fall Candles/Wax Warmers/Essential Oils

You gotta start with how your home smells because it'll put you in the fall mood almost instantly. It's not fall without all of the best fun fall scents! Pumpkin spice, apple cider, cinnamon, leaves, warm sandalwood, s'mores, campfire, etc. The list goes on and on.

If you're into essential oils, get yourself a fun fall looking diffuser from Walmart or Target and get some Cinnamon or Thieves or Nutmeg essential oil. You can look up on Google some fun fall essential oil blends to help you get those warm fall scents going throughout your home.

If you're into candles, Bath & Body Works has some amazing scents for the autumn season. My favorite one is their Flannel candle; I think I've bought one every year since I moved out of my Mom's house back in 2014. Some other scents I also like are their Mahogany Teakwood, Autumn, and Lakeside Morning scents as well. Yankee Candle also has a bunch of really really good fall scents.

If you have a wax warmer, go to Walmart or Target or Yankee Candle and look through their scent section for all your fall favorites. The one I currently have in mine is Fall Festival and it smells like I just baked a cinnamon spice cake in the middle of the woods during a bonfire. Don't ask me how it does, it just does, and I love it.

Pumpkins

This is probably the basis of all fall decor because you can put them up in August and not have to take them down until after Thanksgiving in November. They work the whole season. Just because they're versatile the whole season doesn't mean they have to be boring though!

The best part about pumpkin decorations is that you can find a variety of them to match your theme. There are Jack-O-Lanturns and glass ones and your standard orange ones and mini ones. You can find them in literally every color and style; they can be more on the fun lighthearted side or super fancy classy and glittery. I have a green one with "Hello harvest" on it and a rustic looking one with the letter W on it. There is literally a pumpkin for every theme and everyone.

Fall Florals

I love flowers. They add such a fun pop of color and breath of freshness to any room they're in. Fake flowers are my favorite decorations because they bring everything fresh flowers do, but they don't die in three days and my cats don't eat them.

Get a bouquet of some red, orange and yellow flowers and watch your fall decor all come together. Find a bright fall leaves wreath at your local craft store and hang it on your front door to start the fall feeling at the door. You'll be surprised at how different your room feels just by adding a little bit of freshness and color.

Blankets and Pillows

We're entering the cold season so cozy is the name of the game. If I don't have at least three warm fall colored blankets in my living room, someone needs to take me to the doctor because there is obviously something seriously wrong with me. You can stick to plain warm colors like brown, red, burgundy, burnt orange, etc. or get a little adventurous and get some fun patterns like plaid or leaves!

Get some fall themed throw pillows as well to throw the whole room together. My friend has a super cute one that says "Grateful, Thankful, Blessed." I saw one on Pinterest that said, "Hey there Pumpkin" and I thought that one was super cute, but I own one that says "Get cozy" and a sparkly cream and bronze one that says "thankful." If you're not into pillows with words on them, you can totally find some cute plaid throw pillows or other fun fall patterns and colors.

Holiday Decor

I love fall holidays, more specifically I love Halloween. The fun part about fall holidays is that it is so easy to decorate your home for them. You don't even have to go super big. You can get some fun wall decorations and hang them up with command strips for easy removal after the holidays or some table top ones to spice up your dining room, coffee, and end tables.

Halloween is a great holiday to decorate for because you can stick to being simple and just do some pumpkins and some ghosts or you can go all out and have black cats, skeletons, spiders, and the whole shebangle. I have a fun little spider bowl and a glass ghost sitting on a pumpkin both currently hanging out in my living room just ready for Halloween. For Thanksgiving, you could get a bowl full of fruit or a cornucopia. I have a "Give Thanks" fall sign on my door that I got for my birthday one year. The possibilities are endless.

I hope this list helps you get into the fall spirit! If not, go to Starbucks and get yourself a Pumpkin Spice Latte and then read this again lol. Please send me or tag me in all of your fall decoration photos because I'm always looking for more fall inspirations.

Take a shot for all the people who are still holding onto summer, and toast to the best season of the year.

Cheers,

Kristaleagh
